SonoBat version 2.5 adds new user-requested features to make it easier to process files. It builds upon enhancements implemented with SonoBat 2.4 and earlier SonoBat version 2. The callouts below and descriptions that follow highlight some of the new features to support your analysis of bat echolocation calls.

· Want to just open some file in a random place without wading through the directories? Just drag and drop a file onto the dropbox.

· Wading through piles of files? use the up and down keys (F3 &F4) to open files sequentially and bypass the open file dialogue. Note that when you return to the open file dialogue it knows where you are.

· And while you're at it, would you like to designate species codes on your filenames or designate them for trashing? Edit the filename in the filename display text box, push the chng key and voilá.

· Want to hear what a spotted or mastiff bat really sounds like? Press the play real sound button. Or you can hear the real cadence of a feeding buzz (you get a virtual bat detector effect).

· And to increase your listening pleasure: the sound play of zoom views corresponds to the zoom view (and the moving cursor keeps up with it all).

· Also: a new routine behind the screen palette: switching color/gray or black/white background automatically brings you to optimal default settings without having to adjust the intensity control as before

· Also #2: Universal support for any detector sampling frequency.

· Also #3: More more minor but helpful: The return/enter key activates a std view, return/enter key also ends std view.

· Also #4: Improved button arrangements in the Recorder and AutoRecorder to minimize mouse and keypad movements.
