Move cursor onto the image to toggle between Myotis yumanensis (cursor off) and Pipistrellus hesperus (cursor on) reference calls qppended to the standard view call on the left. Processing zoom selections of calls into standard view window sizes facilitates call recognition without the need to manually adjust time and frequency scales to assess shape, slope, duration and other parameters. In compressed view mode, a simple zoom selection anywhere near a call will let you automatically center the call and process into a high-resolution sonogram for inspecting subtleties of call morphology, and for comparing to reference calls. And any call in standard view may be saved as a reference call with attendant notes. The standard view call displayed on this page was selected from a sequence recorded from a suspected M.yumanensis. The vertical ruler separates the standard view call from the appended reference call. Note the similarity of the unkown call (on the left) to the M. yumanensis reference call. By comparing the call with this and other reference calls, the unknown sequence was determined to be most consistent with a M. yumanensis as suspected. |
